This is a follow up event to South Africa Regional Rec 8 workshop co-organised with the UN Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT) and the ESAAMLG Secretariat.
This event specifically builds on the foundation of the March regional event in South Africa, follows up actions agreed to maintain momentum and using UNOCT and EUGF experts also expands on the cooperative nature of effective risk based NPO regulation.
The two-day joint regional workshop hosted by the FIC of Zambia on “protecting the NP sector in the ESAAMLG member jurisdictions from terrorism financing abuse” will be held on a hybrid onsite/virtual model.
It will gather representatives from authorities/NPO regulators from ESAAMLG member countries, as well as EU GF partner states from such as Bangladesh and Georgia. This seeks to ensure a wider distribution of the important principles of good NPO regulation in the context of minimising the risk of terrorist financing abuse of the sector.
