AML/CFT Moot Court Concept – Working Meeting in Siracusa

Today, we begin the work on the AML/CFT Moot Court with The Siracusa International Institute for Criminal Justice and Human Rights.

A group of experts from Iceland, Italy, France, Georgia, Romania and the United States gathered to explore the potential of MOOT courts to develop in-depth knowledge and practical skills of prosecutors in relation to money laundering cases.
During this first meeting, the working group reviewed the workplan of activities proposed and the distribution of tasks, as well as analysed the information on good practices already gathered by the experts.

This pilot activity will then be tested for future implementation for the benefit of EU Global Facility partner countries.

💡 The collaboration between the EU Global Facility and the Siracusa International Institute began in September 2021 with the aim of reinforcing judges and prosecutors’ capacities and specialised knowledge on AML/CFT matters. A number of joint activities has already been held on various international judicial cooperation matters.
