At the request of the authorities of Mauritius, the training was designed for representatives of the civil society from Mauritius.
It seeks to enable them to have a better understanding of AML/CFT main principles and standards, operation of AML/CFT systems and best practices applied in understanding and mitigating the risks of NPO abuse, as well as ensuring the compliance with the relevant EU and FATF recommendations and particularly FATF Recommendation 8 on the bases of recently adopted regulations and guidelines by the authorities of Mauritius.
Furthermore, the event aims to explain the recent developments that include the re-rating of Mauritius from NC (non-compliant) to LC (largely compliant).
This activity is part of a series of activities organised by the EU Global Facility in Mauritius from November 16 to 25th, 2021.
