The EU Global Facility was in Trinidad and Tobago last week, to conduct a scoping mission aimed at evaluating the current state of play of the country with regards to AML/CFT and assess its request for technical assistance submitted to the European Commission.
Team Leader David Hotte and Key Expert on Law Enforcement Liam Ennis conducted a series of meetings with relevant authorities including the General Attorney, the Head of the Caribbean Financial Action Task Force (CFATF), Dawn Spicer as well as her Deputy Executive Director, Loxly Ricketts.
They also met with the Head of the EU Delegation to Trinidad and Tobago, Peter Cavendish, with whom they discussed the way forward and proposed areas of technical assistance activities to be proposed to the Caribbean island.
