The EU Global Facility is wrapping up the day with its onsite workshop in #Jamaica 🇯🇲.
This week, one of our experts worked with the government of Jamaica to consolidate the considerable success achieved so far in the review of the NPO sector exercise.
Over the last few days, they worked on identifying where potential risks lie in the non profit sector and ways to mitigate them, in order to make the Jamaican NPO sector stronger and better equipped to counter money laundering and terrorist financing threats.
Key Jamaican NPOs also took part in consultations held about these reforms to ensure a comprehensive analysis of the reality on the ground.
Meanwhile, internal reforms within the governmental entities are being analysed in order to best adjust to the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) and other international standards.
In the near future, the EU Global Facility shall also organise one to one sessions with relevant Jamaican partners to address any concerns that may remain on this workstream.
