In 2024, the EU AML/CFT Global Facility received a request for technical assistance from Moldova, as endorsed by the European Commission. In June 2024, the project’s team conducted a scoping mission aimed at defining the support needed by the country on Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism.
This scoping mission consisted of a number of meetings with key stakeholders, including the national FIU, Anti-Corruption Centre, Anti-Corruption Prosecutors Office, General Prosecutors Office, and other relevant state agencies. The EU Global Facility team also engaged with representatives from civil society organisations and the EU Delegation in Chisinau.
